What I’ll Be Getting at Sephora’s VIB Sale 11/11

sephora VIB sale impact

What Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale is to fashion lovers, Sephora’s VIB 20% off everything sale is to beauty aficionados. And now that the epic event is finally just around the corner (er, tomorrow), I’ve got my shopping cart filled and ready to go. It’s a great time to get new products I’ve been meaning to try, snag full sizes of samples I’ve loved, and stock up on old faves. Here’s what I can’t wait to get my hands on.

Sunday Riley Tidal Enzyme Brightening Water Cream: The first time I used this, it was like a tall cold glass of water — it was exactly what my increasingly parched skin needed as the weather dramatically cooled. I’ve been saving my deluxe sample of this amazing face cream for days when I really need it, but now that I can buy it on sale, I’ll be slathering it with aplomb. More of my review here.

Tatcha Indigo Soothing Triple Recovery Cream: I’d done a lot of research on indigo recently and was impressed by its medicinal uses throughout history and across cultures. When I tried a sample of the venerable Japanese brand’s indigo cream, I was amazed at how calmed and comforted my skin felt. (Indigo is a great anti-inflammatory.) This cream is not cheap at $135, but the VIB sale may be just the time to treat myself.

Fresh Seaberry Skin Nutrition Booster: I’m officially a fan of boosters. Boosters been invaluable for me during this transitional season, when my summer moisturizer is no longer cutting it, but I’m loathe to store it away. I add a few drops to my moisturizer or eye cream, and instantly it’s like having a new cool weather-appropriate product: My skin is simply more plumped, firmed, hydrated. I tried Fresh’s antioxidant-laden booster from a magazine tear-out and absolutely loved it.

HG Must-Haves:

sephora hg holy grail products

J. One Jelly Pack: I can’t live without this morning mask-slash-primer. Any time I need to look my best, I apply this. Read my full review here.

Peter Thomas Roth Acne-Clear Invisible Dots: A must any time I have a breakout. These salicylic-infused clear patches work overnight to shrink (or at least prevent from getting worse) my hormonal acne. My full review here.

Touch In Sol Stretchex Stretch Lash Effect Mascara: My go-to mascara that never smudges, volumizes without clumping, and seriously stretches my lashes like I’ve never seen them.  More on this here.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer: I love this full coverage foundation for its doe-foot applicator, light feel, all-day lasting power, and seamless finish. It covers my hyperpigmentation so well — no concealer needed.

Slip Silk Pillowcase: A silk pillowcase is a must for me. Not only does it prevent lines on my face (the kind that take a half day to go away, now that I’ve hit a certain low-collagen age), it minimizes bed head (the bad kind). More on this here.

Old Favorites:

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief: I loved this hydrating cream last winter — it saved my increasingly dry skin. And now that my aging skin seems to be getting drier sooner every year, I’ll be stocking up on this like a squirrel with acorns.

Clinique Acne Solutions Emergency Gel-Lotion: Oh, Emergency Gel-Lotion! I strayed from you once, thinking I had found something better. But when I brought you with me on vacation (because you were smaller and more travel-friendly), you halted two massive cystic acne in its tracks, keeping me zit-free the entire trip. Never again will I leave you. More of my ode to you here.

Clarins Shaping Facial Lift Total V Contouring Serum: This V-line serum is not cheap at $81, so I can only afford to get it on sale. In between sales, I try to use other contouring and lifting serums as I go through the Clarins Manual Auto-Lifting Method massage every morning, but there’s just something about the Clarins serum (its scent, the texture) that keeps me wanting to come back for more. (Read my full review here.)

Dr. Jart+ Masking All the Way Set: I love giving beauty as gifts — what woman in my life couldn’t use more face creams or cleansers, after all? This mask set by the cult fave Korean brand not only features seven of their popular masks, including the winter must-have Water Prescriptment Mask used backstage during Fashion Week, but is packaged in a cute, quirkily illustrated package.

The Estée Edit Cocobalm: I can hand these out like candy to all my girlfriends — they’re incredibly chic and the oil-meets-balm formula feels amazing on lips and imparts just a hint of color.

Milk Makeup Triple Threat Glow: I’ve been waiting to bite the bullet on Milk Makeup. I’ve heard a lot about it, and I love their concept, so this may be the perfect time to try it out. Besides, I love a pretty package, and this reusable acrylic box is too good to pass up.

What are you getting at the sale?

I like how these Estee Lauder Cocobalms look like. will check. These eyeshadows are all amazing. I am going to think about buying a palette with nude soft colors for myself. Happy buying!

I finally put in my order, and I can’t believe how long it took for me to go back and forth on what to buy since I really don’t need anything. Lovely picks. I haven’t gotten into oils for a while, but the boosters sound really practical and useful. I also got the Jelly Pack and you are totally right. I can feel the tightening happening and my pores look smaller too. Awesome recommendation! 🙂

I’m so glad you liked the Jelly Pack! It’s a HG for me so I can’t sing its praises enough. It took me a whole day to think about what to get at the VIB sale, too. It wasn’t like I needed anything right this minute, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to get my regulars (and try new things) on sale. But then again — do I wait until 2017 so I can build up my VIB points??? Haha, oh, the dilemma!
